Present Simple Tense (Everyday Actions)

The present simple tense is used to talk about things that happen regularly or are always true.

1. When to Use It

Use present simple for:

  • Daily routines
  • Facts
  • General truths

Examples:

  • I wake up at 6 AM.
  • She works at a bank.
  • The sun rises in the east.

2. Structure

For most subjects:
👉 Subject + base verb

  • I eat
  • You play
  • They study

3. For He/She/It

Add -s or -es to the verb:

  • He eats
  • She plays
  • It runs

4. Negative Form

Use:
👉 do not (don’t) / does not (doesn’t)

  • I don’t like coffee
  • She doesn’t watch TV

Quick Tip 💡

If the subject is he, she, or it, remember to add “s” to the verb.
